Samuel Regan Asante
Sam's career in social media started inadvertently when he successfully made a bet with his sister that he could grow a social media account to 1m followers by the end of his gap year. He continued to create and manage social media accounts during his time at University studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He met the UNILAD co-founders along the way and has been working with them since. Initially out of their bedrooms to the present day where UNILAD now have offices in Manchester, London and New York. Sam now focuses on marketing as well as working closely with the CEO and MD to innovate and drive the company forward in all areas.
Engaging The Social Generation
The word ‘generation’, in the way it is used today is a post war concept. Each age group wants to distinguish itself from the last, by culture language, taste and habits. Coupled with rapid technological change, it can prove quite the challenge to engage The Social generation. When we talk about The Social Generation at UNILAD, we’re referring to millennial and the increasingly influential generation-z. They’ve grown up with social, constantly connected, consuming sharing and engaging with content across multiple devices and platforms. They’re entertained informed and able to spark debate across social media. Technically they should be easier to reach than ever before but it’s the complete opposite. During the workshop I will share the key insights discovered by our social team, and the rules we follow, that have led us to being the most viewed and engaged social publisher in 2016 and 2017.
